The charming village is home to a small school, a public library (donated by generous local residents for education of the village’s children), a church, several dry goods outlets and a few other small provisioning services for essential items. All of these are couched within a traditional and tropical Mexican ambience.

You can fly into Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, the airport is located only 20 miles north and an easy 45-minute drive. The international airport is serviced by a number of International airlines including Alaska Airlines, Continental, American, America West, Frontier Airlines, Mexicana and Aeromexico. Past Retreat Testimonials

“This retreat was so special to me and something that has truly stayed with me since. As a momma, I have struggled to find myself in all of the day to day and knew that getting away to a retreat was just what I needed. When I saw that Katie was offering one and in the beautiful Smokey Mountains, no less, I knew I had to be there. What Katie created for us did not disappoint! It was magic. Every detail, the accommodations, the flow of events, the food (oh the food!)….but the best part was the connection. Not only to the other ladies attending and to Katie, but back to myself. She held the space so perfectly with just the right mix of activity and solitude, outward work and inward work. It was exactly what my heart had been longing for. Some room to breathe, quiet to hear my own soul speak and time spent with other beautiful souls in a most beautiful place. The tools Katie gave us have stayed with me and served me again and again since my return, and for that, I am forever grateful. Thank you Katie for the special way you brought us together, in such a healing and nurturing space. Thank you for what you taught us and for holding space for us to hear ourselves and each other. This retreat was everything I needed and more and I cannot wait to attend one again!” - Stacey

“Katie's retreat was just what my body and mind needed! There's no doubt that we all need rest. Not just a nap, or a good nights sleep (although both did happen at this retreat), but a good soul rest. My soul, my heart, my mind were finally able to stop. There was no rushing, no nagging, no anything that I *had* to do. Not only was I able to have the biggest soul sigh in a long time, but I was also encouraged, mentored, fed (emotionally and physically), loved on, and listened to. I needed a place and time to be myself, to check in deeper than I had been, and encouragement to get there. If you find yourself stuck, or needing relief, a break, love, and compassion, then please, please, please do yourself a favor and go to one of Katie's retreats. They are worth it all, and for me, it was definitely needed. I am definitely going to make an effort to get to as many of Katie's retreats as possible. I was renewed, and I continue to carry some of those new habits I learned with me long after the retreat ended.” - Amanda

“What I have learned immersing myself with Katie, is “how to take care of myself” in a good healthy way.  I have learned that my needs are important. And when my body, mind or soul says I need to make a change I have learned to listen.  Katie has taught me how to tune into my inner voice and to meditate.  I have learned to enjoy reading again and coloring…yes, with markers…I find it very relaxing and soothing especially with some nice music playing.  Taking care of ourselves is very important if you are a mom, grandmother, aunt or just basically because you are female.  We tend to always do and give for others in our lives and we don’t stop long enough to say “hey what about my needs”?

I must say…if you haven’t been on one of Katie’s retreats yet….well, you are just missing out.  I realize so many people have families and children to take care of, but you need to take care of yourself as well.  Going on the retreat with Katie is such a pleasure and I always learn something new and exciting.  I have found that now having been on 2 retreats makes me realize I don’t want to miss any of them if possible.  So, come on ladies…. take the plunge and join Katie for the next retreat!!  I promise you won’t be sorry…you will be truly glad that you did join.” - Judy
